Lowrance lets you completely customize your screen views, while Humminbird has a ton already programmed to choose from that can be saved to the 3 favorites buttons on the screen. That being said I agree with comments above about if price is a factor, you can link 2 Humminbird Helix units together for a lot cheaper than you can two compatible Lowrance units Garmin limits you to only their mapping while Lowrance and Humminbird each give you a couple different options. There is also some really good videos on youtube if you have an idea of what models from each brand you would be interested in.
#Humminbird maps vs lowrance maps pro
In my opinion, they are all great units, and I think spending time goingthrough each rather it be on a buddys boat, or in front of them at a Bass Pro or West Marine is the best solution for picking the one that is right for you, if price is not a factor.

Over 3,000 enhanced lake maps with depth contour and shoreline detail, plus coastal shoreline detail with offshore depth contours to 1,000 ft.I am currently running Humminbird Helix 10s and a 12 and cant say enough about how much I like those units, but that being said everyone is different and may like or use different options or features from each unit. Up to 10 trails - up to 12,000 points/trailġ00 retraceable plot trails/up to 10,000 points per trail Internal high-sensitivity WAAS + EGNOS + MSAS But let’s break this down further Lowrance. Max 250W Broadband, analog equivalent 30,000W and 32W Broadband, analog equivalent 3,750 W Generally speaking, both brands offer nearly identical features. In this head-to-head competition I am crowning the Humminbird DI models victorious over the Lowrance DSI units. The deciding factor is the Humminbird DI having a much higher resolution. In conclusion, I find these units to very similar in features and options. I believe because of their similarities that the power, sonar, and technology review winner is …. The only difference is that the Humminbird has a little more technology built into their fishfinders, but up and down the comparable models are basically the same features. Another similarity is the power output, because both units are rated at up to 4,000 watts peak-to-peak. To be honest, it is all about the location. Keep in mind that although owned by Garmin, Navionics does not work on Garmin chart plotters. Of course, not every model is compatible with every version. Humminbird has Down Imaging and Lowrance has their DownScan Imaging and they both give you a spectacular view down to 250-feet using DI or DSI technology, but as low as 1,000-feet without those options turned on. Navionics has a bit better compatibility, and will work on Lowrance, Humminbird, Simrad, Raymarine and B&G. The sonar comparisons are very difficult on these two models because they are similar. Next we will compare their sonar, power, and advanced technological features. Each of these companies have multiple model types, but today I want to compare the Humminbird DI fishfinders with Lowrance DSI fishfinders because of their comparable features. If you are in the market for a fishfinder for your boat then you will want to consider two of the top brands, Humminbird and Lowrance. There are a variety of models with different options, designs, and most importantly prices for you to choose from. There are so many exceptional fishfinders out on the market today that it makes your job as a consumer easier to get the one that best suits your needs.
